    my friend died of this disease. Is this genetic? Is the death painful? Could we hav saved her if we acted differenly. We gave cpr but not on a hard surface.

    I have a damaged vein that is lately being sore and a bit swollen. I hit the shin first about six weeks ago,and then I hit the damaged place on the vein about a month ago. The shin is tender in a spot near there, and the leg above swells a tiny bit near the knee turning a slight purple. Any ideas...

    I am only 18 and I have had unsightly bulging veins in my arms and hands, for as long as i can remember. They go away completely when I shiver, but when I work out or go into hot areas my feet and arm veins bulge and its kind of even uncomfertable. My dad, has them too, so it could be genetics....

    Has anyone had a recurrance of a pe after stopping coumadin?I had bilat PE and stopped coumadin after 8 months. I still get out of breath just going up stairs at home. It seems to be getting worsehowever my d-dimer level was neg.
