I had been having a runny nose with drainage and coughing up yellow mucus and having mild headache's for a few day's. I wasn't feeling to great and my husband had been accidentally given some amoxicillin when he was sick and he couldn't take it due to being allergic. I have never had problems with it so I took 1 500mg capsule. I have never taken capsules only the pill form. About three hour's later I noticed a rash starting under my eye's. I didn't think much about it at that moment until I started breaking out on the inside of my arm's really bad then some on my chest then to my inner thighs. This all happened on Saturday. Today being 4 day's later and it's still there and the itching is driving me insane. I have done the oatmeal bath's and the itch cream and steroid cream and today started the caladryl lotion. I called my doctor Monday and she said it sounds like I was having an allergic reaction to the medicine and it should clear up in a couple day's. It's not changing. I even went so far as to rub it all raw yesterday and then put straight alcohol all over it to dry it out. Now my grandson had a very bad rash about 3 week's ago and his pediatrician said it was fifths disease. My daughter showed her my photos and she said that's what I have as well. I have read up on it and I have some of the symptoms but I only have it in those place's. Not my feet, mouth or hands like it say's and the rash just doesn't look the same. I haven't used anything different in my daily needs or taken anything different except that pill. If it was fifths disease then why would I be the only one with it? And why so much later than he had? If anyone can help or give advice it would help out so much. Thank-you! Pictures attached!
