I won't stop bleeding!

I have been experiencing what seems to be a prolonged menstrual period lasting 20 days so far. It has been extremely light flowing and I haven't experience any cramping or pain. This has never happened to me before. I'm 22 years old, not pregnant nor have I been on any medication. When I was 16 I had an ovarian cyst rupture and was put on birth control. I stopped taking it about 2 years ago because my insurance ran out. Could this a symptom of another ovarian cyst? Last time I had no symptoms until it actually ruptured causing excruciating pain. Also, how long can I safely wait before making an appointment? My husband is in the military and gets home the beginning of next month and I want him to come with me because I have really bad anxiety. Thanks for any advice you can provide!
