Pain in my feet when I get out of bed / stand up after long periods of sitting.

At some point in the last 3 months I began experiencing pain in the tops of my feet when I get out of bed in the morning. The pain isn't very intense, and in some cases it's more of a heavy pressure, but it's very consistent and has happened every morning. It also sometimes occurs when I stand up after having been seated for long periods. The pain recedes and is usually completely gone within 10 minutes.

I've read quite a lot about 'Plantar fasciitis', but the symptoms don't seem to correlate. I tend to have pain in the top of my feet that feels a bit like swelling (though there's no visible swelling in the feet). In the case of Plantar fasciitis, it appears that the pain most often originates from the heel of the foot, or on the bottom.

I am a relatively healthy, slightly overweight (~25lbs) 33 year old male. I do not have any significant health problems and am not currently taking any medications. I drink coffee in the mornings and take supplements, including a children's multi-vitamin and kelp. I do not have a regular exercise routine. My family has a mild history of diabetes. Thinking that this might be a related circulation problem I began taking my blood sugar readings at regular intervals. They are perfectly normal (~75mg in the morning and ~130mg after a carb-heavy meal, receding normally thereafter).

I have no other significant symptoms of any kind.

Any suggestions regarding what this might be?
