I don't know how I managed to do this, but my hip joint feels in alot of pain.
Prior to it flaring up, I was a 5 times a week excerciser, with anything up to 2 hours a day at the gym doing cardio. Now I cannot run without being in agony.
I did go to my doctor 3 weeks ago who said it was nothing serious and would die down in its own time. It feels as painful as it did 3 weeks ago. Is this too soon? should I go back?
I have worked out its not as painful if I walk with the foot of the hip thats playing up, at right angles to what its supposed to be. But I look like an idiot and cannot run this way. It can help a little to push with great pressue on the hip (pushing inwards towards the opposite hip).
I can also feel it almost "vibrate" down my leg- the outside of my calf hurts also, but I don't think this is an actual pain, I think something in my hip has gone wrong and its connected in some way (ligaments or nerves maybe?) to my calf- is this possible?
Can anyone help of advise on this? Be really greateful as I think my doctor thinks I am of a low pain threshold (you don't do 10 hours of hard, high heart rate excercise a week and another 2 of weights and have a low pain-threshold!)
