I have been experiencing muscle pain and weekness for about three months now. It began with random (but pretty severe) muscle pains along with what seems to be lymph node issues. I had an EKG, a chest X-ray, a stress test on my heart and they also did a serious of blood and urine tests. Everything came back normal. About a month after this occurred, I began to experience vertigo and dizzy spells, with some being pretty severe. This is usually accompanied by neck pain and a headache that radiates from my neck up to my forhead. The muscle pain and weekness is still there but comes and goes peroidically. I had a CT scan of my head and nead that also came back normal. I have seen 4 doctors and they all think I have a pretty tough viral infection that is affecting both my mucles and causing the dizzy spells/weakness. I am going to see an ENT tomorrow about the dizzy spells. Is this something that you have heard of and what can I do try get over this? I have been loading up on antioxidants and receiced a B-12 shot from my acupunturist to see if that would help. I was told that this could last a few more months and should eventually go away on its own. I am just looking to get back into good health so I can enjoy my new family. Thanks in advance for an feedback.

If no cause is found and you also have other symptoms as well as the ones you mentioned eg post excertional tiredness and the problem continues for another few mths.. it would be then likely that you would have CFS also known as CFIDS

  • Hi Vertigo,Take a squiz at the site http://www.womentowomen.com you may not have syndrome X, but it does talk about chronic fatigue which sounds like you are develping. You mention having a new family, so I assume you recently had a baby (congrats). Some woman develop health problems such as yours afer the birth of a child, thankfully not that common or as severe as your problems. I am sure woman to woman site would have definitely had woman like you through their doors who have just had a child but are taking a nose dive afterward.Your immune system really does sound compromised, but with the right advice and action you will be back on your feet to enjoy your family. All the best.Agape,searchingsam.

HELLO, I have experience many of the same symptoms as you...now I am going on 2 yrs.....i woke up one morning with sever vertigo and stayed in the hospital for one week-i was diagnosised with migraine related virtigo. Then i started passing out and when woke could not move my body due to severe muscle weakness. I am tierd all of the time, muscle pain and cramping, cannot get enough sleep, constipation, etc. I have low postassium. I do not know why my body can no longer hold potassium-but it can't. I take postassium supplements to help with this. I want an answer of why though. You should talk to your doctor about this being a possible cause of your symptoms as mine is getting worse and I feel it is affecting a change in my muscle structure.

  • I have some of these symptoms and have been told I have mono, ask for a mono spot test. Also it sounds a little like MS, symptoms of ms are often more severe after having a baby, if that's what you meant about "new family".
