I'm a 23 year old female, caucasian, with no previous records of serious illnesses. I had mononucleosis as a child and I'm allergic to penicillin.
I have been taking birth control pills for the last 5 years (Logest) without any bad side effects (all blood tests were normal, swab tests as well).
4 years ago I had a viral infection of warts on my fingers, but I have succesfully treated it and no signs of warts have appeared ever again.
In the last 2 years I have developed severe finger pain, in my left middle finger just beneath the lower right corner of the nail. It was very sensitive to touch and hurt very badly whenever I applied pressure on it. There were no lumps, swellings or changes in either the finger or nail colours whatsoever. I visited my doctor and told her about the problem, she examined my finger and thought there was nothing wrong with it. She told me the problem might lie in the fact that I'm left handed and I developed the pain because of squeezing the pencil too hard while writing. I started writing more carefully but the pain didn't go away. Latelly I have been feeling a pulsating pain sensation in that area and I think the pain has gotten worse. Still, there are no external manifestations of any kind on my finger. None of my other fingers hurt either. Please help me with any kind of response, a similar story or an expert opinion. I know there must be something wrong because the pain is telling me so but noone seems to know what might be causing it.
