So this has happened to me 3 times in the past 6 or 7 weeks. Not sure if they're all related but I am a healthy 26 year old male and I do not get sick more than 3 or 4 times a year usually.
First 2 times: I went to the tanning salon 2 days before each time these occured. The night before I had a very vivid dream. I don't remember what they were about, just waking up and being affected in general. The next day I at the end of the day I feel fatigue and by the next morning I start developing the flu-like symptoms. The next 2 days are the worst. I get this rolling fever. At first VERY intense heat all over, my fever reached 104.3 but no sweating and it just felt absolutely unbearable. Finally it would subsidize and I would break a sweat and didn't feel so bad. This would occur 3 or 4 times each day. After that slowly the symptoms would diminish taking it's course roughly 5-6 days. The first time I doused myself with Nyquil but it did nothing, second I didn't take anything.
This time. No tanning. Started with just quick fatigue and the end of one evening. The next day I felt flu-like with swolen lymph glands and gums. Next two days I got the rolling fever except this time it would initialize with intense shaking chills. It was pretty violent shaking and it was more annoying than irritating. Then I started to get the chills which made me feel completely immobile because I was so cold, this was different than the hard shaking chills I had in the beginning. Istarted taking ibuprofrin and developed a pattern. I would get the cold chills and take 2 ibuprofrin. One hour later the chills would go away and I would get the really intense fever. Then 45 minutes later I would start sweating and feel ok for about 5-6 hours. At times my heart would be racing really really fast. I have been unable to sleep not more than 2 hours a night for the past 3 days. I am not sure if ibuprofrin has caffeine but if it does that would explain my racing heart. I was also drinking diet coke because the ibuprofrin gave me heartburn.
Some ideas I have so far are as follows: My car is old and attracts a lot of heat and I live in an area where temperatures escalate past 105 on a given day. Leaving for lunch at work I have to cover the stearing wheel with a coat and the seats have started to melt. This intense heat in an hour commute may have something to do with it. I also started a salt water cleanse for 5 days. Finally I take supplements and started taking a new creatine but I don't remember when.
