HIV?? or ANXIETY??

HI, i'm an 18 yr old male in the philippines, i had unprotected sex 4 weeks ago with an 18 yr old girl (yeah, unprotected.. real stupid.. anywayz..), i was asymptomatic the following days.. but after a week, i got dysuria and had urethral discharge.. so i got tested for gonorrhea and it came out positive.. so i took ceftrioxone and doxycyclin, and was cured..
but 7 days ago, i started having flu-like symptoms.. runny nose, cough, mild fever, sore throat, and oddly enough, night sweats.. which got me kinda scared.. then i started reading about HIV, and the day after, i had muscle pains and difficulty in swallowing.. and now i have abdominal pain, foot pain, and difficulty in breathing too..!
i had an HIV test yesterday and came back as non-reactive.. but its only been 4 weeks so i know that it doesn't mean anything.. my doctor told me not 2 think about it, that its only the flu.. but last time i checked, the flu doesn't give you abdominal pain and diarrhea.. plz help..!! i cant sleep and study anymore.. i cant even tell my parents coz i don't know how they'd take it...! plz.. could i have HIV?? or is anxiety playing a major role..??

No one can tell you for sure wether it is HIV or not until sufficient time has passed for you to get a repeat test done.The classic number thrown around is that if 1 partner is infected with aids, the risk of transmitting the virus via vaginal intercourse is about 1:1000. the flu doesn't give you abdominal pain and diarrhea There are many different common viruses thou which do cause abdomenal pain and diarrhea. It's probably just one of them and within a week or two you'll be fine.taniaaust1 2267 Replies Flag this Response
