hi, im 16 and i have been suffering from a large amount of symptoms over the last 2 and a half years, heres the symptoms

(this is going to be a very long post)

Keep in mind these symptoms have been getting worse over only 2 and a half years. its scary how all these symptoms have appeared so fast

Symptoms

- Heart palpatations (shown arrhythmia in EKG and other heart tests)

- Strange skin rashes that come out of nowhere. but disappear in minutes, or seconds

- Sudden swelling, that is extreme. an example is when my wrist got so swollen that i couldnt move my hand.

- EXTREME leg pain. i always say this to my parents and they think the pain is like i hit it off a wall or something. no. it is VERY bad. mostly in the thigh, very bad pain in the knee when bent. calf muscle burning pain, ankle soreness and foot numbness

- Thrush on the tongue that does not go away despite going on anti-biotic mouthwash for weeks, scrubbing it off with a toothbrush, EVERYTHING has failed

- Bad infections that keep poping up. i have actually been off school the last 2 weeks due to a bad throat infection (which came up shortly after a sinus infection)

- Sleep problems. i CANNOT fall asleep to save my life. i always feel exhausted but when i try to go to sleep i just cant. no matter what i do i cannot get to sleep until i get just so exhausted that i pass out. AND i dont have refreshing sleep. i slept for 12 hours straight before and woke up exhausted. (all things ive tried to help my get to sleep has failed)

- Getting very dizzy upon standing up for about 30 sec to a minute. also during these dizzy spells i see flashing lights and get disoriented

- Spiking fever randomly even if i dont have an infection (highest it got was 102 and lasted for about a day. the doctor i saw at the walk in did not see any evidence of throat infection ect)

- Long term memory loss and Short term memory loss. like if a teacher describes what i have to do for a project i will forget it very shortly after or if i study for a test i wont remember a thing

- Rectal bleeding. it has only happened once (it actually happened just yesterday)

- Stomach problems. stomach pain and feeling like im going to throw up

- Weird eating patterns, for months ill feel like i wanna eat everything in sight, then for months i wont eat anything.

- Exessive salt use. i put salt on everything because i always seem to have some type of craving for it.

- Shortness of breath (which is pretty bad)

Tests Done -

-MRI-x2

-Blood test for Lime Disease-x4

-Stool sample checking for parasites.

- Blood test for Lupus

- Cardiac heart moniter-x4 one was on for 12 hours, then 24 hours then a week then 2 weeks and then for 3-4 weeks (all those over the course of 2 and a half years)

- EKG and Ultrasound of the heart. (2 ultrasounds)

- Chest x-rays, leg x-rays and arm x-rays

- Blood tests checking blood glucos ect
(and probably more. but ive had so much done i cant possibly remember it all)

ALL tests have been NEGATIVE they cant find ANYTHING thats the worst thing to me because now they think its Psychological which i dont agree with AT ALL

so can ANYBODY help me? please i just need an answer, im on my last nerve and i dont know what to do anymore, doctors cant find anything..... im desperate for an answer.

  • What test you`ve done for Lupus? oh im sorry i missed your reply earlier. i think it was a blood test for lupus, the doctor said that "The ANA was negative" but im not sure what that means besides (in other words) "You dont have Lupus" also i had another "Attack" today. and when i went to the bathroom my urine wasnt yellow or clear, it was brown? a dark brownish color. i havent told ANYBODY about this, but is that something extremely serious? i know its not normal AT ALL but i want to know if i should go to the hospital soon or what. again thanks for the posts

  • Hi there .. so sorry to hear about all your symptoms. I dont know if you will find out you have the following im about to suggest as a possibility or not (as your presentation isnt classical of it) but im going to suggest you join our support group http://forum.notcrazy.net/index.php as we have ALL KINDS of weird symptoms with the illness we have, which ISNT a psychological one thou many doctors who arent up with the latest info who are way behind times and still think it is. the sleep issue you describe is a classical symptom of the following and it does often have some of your other symptoms (thou some of your symptoms suggest you "may" have something else going on..but i dont know what). Rectal bleeding (unless its being caused by the constipation), and pain when knee is bent isnt CFIDS symptoms i know about. but all the rest of your stuff can and often does occur in CFIDS. Have you heard of chronic fatigue immunity dysfunction syndrome (CFIDS). I suggest to check out the symptom list at http://wwcoco.com/cfids/bernesx.html ................. The salt craving may be an important clue to your illness.. two conditions i can think of which can ause this symptom is CFIDS (as a third with it have low cortisol (cortisol insufficiancy) .. or by Addison's disease. Addison's disease can cause a lot of symptoms including vomiting (thou i dont think that causes all your symptoms). It is very important that you have Addison's ruled out with your symptoms as Addison's is often not picked up until someone has a life threatening incident........... You also need to find out if you have posteral orthostatic taccycardia (POTS). This often occurs with other issues. (if you borrow a heart rate/BP monitor from somewhere).. it would be easy to work out yourself if you have this issue going. It means that your heart rate would be raising and up to 100 beats or more within 5 mins of standing or increasing by 30 beats over on standing. Other symptoms and conditions often coexist with POTS (including) CFIDS.

  • Till the doctors can work out what is wrong with you.. i suggest to try treating your symptoms individually. Im going to base my suggestions here on if you were/are a CFIDS patient.. 1/ Firstly work on fixing the sleep issue as lack of sleep can affect one in many ways and lead to more issues. If the problem is CFIDS.. CFIDS patients have all kinds of sleep issues including sometimes what is called reversed sleep hrs (the inner body clock can be stuffed up). There are many different things which can be taken for the sleep issues I suggest you make a post at the support forum i gave you in my other post and request to know what all the others are taking for the sleep issues for ideas. (Nearly all of them have sleep issue like yours). Once you have an idea on this.. go back to your doctor and tell him you want and NEED treatment for the sleep issue, it isnt right that you are not being given no treatment... Once you can sleep better it will help your body to heal a little. Lack of sleep can leave one more prone to infections etc. 2/ Constipation could be causing the abdomenal issues and the bowel bleed you just had. Constipation should be treated too. eg -make sure you are drinking plenty of water 6-8 glasses per day- having a good high fibre diet with high fibre foods eg not white bread (look up high fibre foods to see what you could include more of in your diet eg whole grains), plenty of fruit and veg - If you have bowel issues due to a medical issue eg CFIDS or something else.. the above suggestions may not be enough. In which case you may need to add fibre supplements (from the pharmacy) to your regular diet. 3/ You need to get rid of the candida (thrush)... so an antithrush diet may be in order. I noticed you said you were taking "antibacterial" mouthwash for the thrush  . Thrush is a fungi not a bacterial.. and antibacterial treatments may make it worst!!! One dont treat it with antibacterials. I suggest you check with your pharmacy about this and ask what you should be taking for it. Candida can cause all kinds of issues. 4/ Keep searching for answers to make sure everything possible can be ruled out. (if it does turn out to be CFIDS.. there is a talk that there may be a blood test out for that within a year). best luck.

  • Have you seen an endocronologist? I think you might need to test your cortisol levels, and even have an mri done of both your adrenals and pituitary gland. Kiera
