We need help! My boy friend, 49 years old has had problems for almost 6 years. Started with an injury to a knee. Was told to take a large amount of Aleave etc. Starting having problems with stomach. Will add he has always had problems off and on for 15 years with kidney stones. He has had upper and lower scopes. Upper showed hyannal hernia, GERD, past ulcers. Lower showed nothing much on the first one. scopes, CT and all lead to kidney stones and a urine catch for 24 hours. After a while of no answers to why his stomach was swelling he stopped getting test and decided to live with it. Pain started up and gallbladder was removed. A year ago he had terable pain and a fever. Lower scope and CT was done. Thought it was diverticulitis. about 4 weeks after that he got a fever, swollen mass in arm pit. They open up the arm pit to see what it was and found a mass of infection in the limph gland. Ecoli and staph was found. Of course antibiotics was given.
The last 2 weeks abnominal still swelling, complains that it swells more when leaning over and working. swelling is more on the upper right side. He was placed on amox Tr-K CLV and Hyoscyamine. Another CT, ultra-sound of kidneys. He became very itchy - only 2 days of amox left. stopped med, took benadril for 4 days, order to see urologist and a GI on the 23. He is in a lot of pain, stomach still swollen. Bowels move daily.
I worry there could be a slow leak in the bowels, evidence in the culture that was fron the lymph gland. Need to know what test he needs they are not doing.
