My son had legg perthes disease as a child. He wore a brace for two years, but the hip healed in a fused L shape. He was left with one leg several inches shorter, pain, and and was on crutches periodically. During college, he had surgery to clear the broken off bone chips and rotate his leg, and another to release tendons. At 34 he had the hip totally rebuilt. He now suffers from severe arthritis in his knees and feet and fatique. Are other adults having similar problems?
