For the last 3 weeks i have been suffering with a constant pain in the right side of my jaw up to the right temple. Ive been to my doctor as well as the ER and was treated for a sinus infection. I have since gone through 3 antibiotics (bactrim, z pack, levaquin) with no relief. I also was given a decongestant and nasal spray which has done nothing. I was prescribed pain killers, tylenol, muscle relaxers in which i am currently taking however nothing has helped. The pain killers take the edge off but it wares off quickly. Ive literally been in my bed for 3 weeks, missing a full week of work, due to this. The pain wakes me up every couple hours in the middle of the night and when its bad...its bad. I also have an extreme tooth sensitivity on the right side in the back teeth in which i cant even eat something room tempature, such as a banana, without a shock of pain shooting through my head. I have been living on oatmeal and soup. Sometimes the pain is dull and sometimes its like an electric shooting pain through the entire right side of my head.

I do have sinus problems and have been treated in the past for them and they have always gone away. This time its excruciating pain and there is no relief, i do not think its sinus related. PLEASE HELP :(

PLEASE HELP :(sounds like TMJ, I'm going thru one of my worst bouts ever.. ear aches rings, teeth hyper touchy ache to the root, warm n cold food just sear and sink pain so dep and hard, any pressure.. yowsa! whole side upper and lower jaw goes thru waves of varying pain degrees thru the day. and my teeth eel a bit crowded, shifting the past 2 days.Resources say to use ice n heat packs, massage therapist mom says finger massaging the cheek muscles from inside and outside, websites tell to stick to soft food no chewy crunchy items, rest the jaw.. anti inflammatories until it settles down. maybe get your bite checked if a issue has developed a dentist can fix a malocclusion. Also ask/find out if you may be clenching or even grinding teeth in sleep. High stress and time o change for me, end of 30 year marriage likely has my nerves shrill, as well as major body ache side effects of tummy flu I just went thru past 2 days, makes this the worst ever in my 40 years of having it. cheap sports mouth guard from sports store to mold to your mouth to sleep with, if grinding then, may help. doesnt me much, but cheaper and less damaging than the professional dental office night guards did, made my teeth shift, too rigid and I still worked it in my sleep, loosened my teeth. Try and keep teeth from closing together, chin down looking at laptop or other items, kitchen sink always gets mine sore, too, have to really work to remember no teeth touching, as it is so subconciously done. I'm wanting botox in the nerve to see if it may help reduce the reccurence of pain, like they find forehead shots help aleve some migraine pain prone people. but I'm just a person, consumer, lived with this since a childhood bike accident trauma, no medical practioner. Sure wish I had some clove oil or oragel on hand to see if it would help a little in numbing each of the teeth's pain and calm the jaw a little..
