4th finger (left hand) swells every 17 days!

Question

Hello, I have had a rough year. Strep A, depersonalization, finger swelling, ear fullness. One sympton that continues to happen like clock work is the swelling in my 4th finger on my left hand...every 17-18 days exactly. Its been occuring for about 5 months now, month after month. I dont know if this is due to an allergy or something I am coming in contact with or is it possibly hormone related. Doctors dont seem to know what to do with me at this point. I am seeing an NAET doctor, and a Natropath Doctor...to help me get some things on track. But the swelling in my hand is happening month after month. Its very painfull and the whole finger gradually over a 3 day period gets stiffer and stiffer and goes away after about 2-3 days. Always the same finger. Does anyone have any similar issues and or ideas? I was just put on ARMOR for my thyroid being a little low, but dont know if thyroid would do this.

Hi, I have a similar issue with my right middle finger, every couple of months the nuckle will swell up about 3 times the size, i wont be able to bend the finger at all, sometimes it will be really painful & red, haha its a weird comparision but can sometimes feels like when frying a sausage and its sizzling away, and the meat is about to explode through the skin?. i've has x-rays & blood tests, to check for arthritis but nothing has come back which could be a cause for the abnormal swelling. from what i know i havent injured the finger either.if you know any other causes, i'd appreciate your ideas. best of luck finding your cause.

Please try and request that you be tested for RAST allergens by your doctor. It will be done via blood work and ask that they do a huge food panel on you for both IGE and IGG allergens. This would include immediate response allergies as well as delayed response allergys (which may take a few days to show their symptoms). Request that this panel definitly include the following: Milk, eggs, Wheat, Rye, Barley, Oats....these are the big ones that are in close to all foods! I will tell you that someone finally ran allergy tests on me and I was VERY allergic to all of the above..once i elimated these foods from my diet I felt like a whole new person within 3 weeks! All it was was stupid food allergies for me, after 2 years of MRIs, CT scans, ect ect!!!! If your doc wont do this , go and try an ENT doc that specializes in allergies. OR you can try elimating these from you diet for about a month and follow a gluten free diet and see how you feel.  There is some debate weather I have celiac disease or not but I would have to re-introduce gluten (rye, barly and wheat) back in for them to test me after its back in my diet and thats something I absolutely dont want to do. So check out allergies and celiac....when you are taking in something you are allergic to or cant tolerate..swelling is your bodys way of responding in alot of cases.
