:confused:I got two cold sores (painful white things where my cheek and gums meet) in the back of my throat
After receiving those two sores, a week later, I came down with a fever. The fever was consistent for 2 days (occasionally breaking and coming back)
On the second day of the fever the sores enlarged, my gums inflamed a bit and became extremely sensitive, my throat also became sore, and I started getting pimples on my tongue (enlarged taste buds?)
also my glands are enlarged
I was unable to eat and still am unable to eat due to my mouth being entirely too sensitive. The symptoms are still there, just not as bad during the fever period. i had a strep culture and its not strep ive tried gargling with warm salt water and im on amoxicillian that hasnt helpedd whats wrrong with me?

  • I am going though exactly the same thing! I am in so much pain from my throat!I am having same problems but this is how it went for me,PAIN LEVEL: 10SYMPTOMS: Really Bad Sore Throat, High Fevers of 100+ That go UP aNd down, Sores All Over the Mouth-Back of the Mouth-Lips and Tung, Also Feeling Week at alot of times, Worst Pains come at Night and i just start to Moan and it continues.CURRENT MEDICATION: IBUPROFEN 600MG ( This is the 7th Medication Perscribed to me, Doctor said i had to Discard all the other ones that the stupid ER Doctors Prescribed to me.)DOES MEDICATION WORK?: It makes the Pain Numb for a couple Hours, I can still feel pain if i touch it a bit, but it really does make me Energized, Feel Up, and Fever Does go Really Down, Also Makes me Hot, and not cold like normal because of the Fever) BIO: First day, I went to the ER because i of bothering Blisters all over my arm or more like a big Rash. I Had been feeling Swollen, with little blood circulation and i couldn't move. Doctor put me on steroids and on IV. He told me i had Poison Ivy. Now, Poison Ivy does not run in California. Especially Bakersfield. If it does its pertty rare. More on, I went home with 4 Medications, I was having a big fever of about 101. Next day my throat was raging in pain, and my mouth was aching! I had went to Urgent Care Offices to assist. (took 5 hours in waiting room! not so urgent..) They gave me some Anti biotics and some pain relievers. That DIDN'T Work! I still found my self in loads of pain, but now even worse by the next day. I found out that Anti Biotics didnt work what so ever with what i had! So now i go to our main Hospital in Bakersfield, KMC (Kern Medical Center)-(third Hospital, Third day) waiting another 4-5 hours in the ER.) They put me on IV, Give me Penicillin and other medications that finally worked, but in reallity they were medications that only numbed the pain. Sadly they said their is no medication that can help it, so i had and still am waiting, but i have pain medication to numb pain for about 2 hours, then the pain comes back... Doctor said this time that i had a really bad throat infection, possibly a virus. They also Ran my blood for MONO, it came out Negative... So They Keep Saying "Possibly This, and Possibly That: MONO, STD(Herpes), Strep Throat, Poison Ivy, Really Bad Throat Infection.COMON! I Want to Know what i Really Have! And how long will it take for Healing because i cannot stand this pain, been off of work for 7 days now... and im going back in 2 days, is that enough time! Please Tell me what i have, Please Help.PLEASE HELP!....If you wanna keep updates of me, then email me because i wanna definitly keep updates on the people that are dealing with Same Thing!Techworxs@gmail.com

  • You have Herpangina, also known as Foot Mouth Disease. Check it out. Yep, that's exactly what it sounds like. I'd never heard of it until my 2yr old got it about a month ago. We thought that he just bit his tongue at first, but the next day I noticed the sore on his tongue turned into a line of sores along the side of his tongue and quickly spread to his lips and cheeks. He couldn't close his mouth and he was drooling. They said he had hand, foot,, and mouth disease and gave me something to rub on the sores called "Magic Swizzle".
