My boyfriend's mother is 69 years old. She was diagnosed tuberculous meningitis with hydrocephalus and an appearance of brain atrophy in June 2008. After two months' treatment in hospital, she got better, but was still in semiconsciousness. At the end of August, the disease repeated. She often stayed in coma, fecal and urinary incontinence, and could not take care of herself. Doctors from the neurology department diagnosed as communication hydrocephalus, brain atrophy, and subretinal space adhesion. They said it was so hard to cure; even if it was cured, there must be some paralysis. Without positive improvement we got her back home in October 2008.
So is there any treatment to improve this condition? Thanks a lot!
