Mild neutropenia, lymphocytosis & eosinophilia?

i'm 21 years old and i have sinus tachycardia, the heart doctor sent me to get my thyroid examined and when the results came back they were ok, but the blood work didn't come out right. i found out i have mild neutropenia and mild lymphocytosis. i went to have two more blood tests in different hospitals and they both came out the same. they told me to wait a month and have the test done again, so thats what i did.

i went last week to get another blood test and i got the same result, the percentages didnt change much, lymphocytosis went down a bit but not by much. i found out on this blood test that i have eosinophilia too, they told me it could be from allergies, and i do have an allergy on my belly from one of the belts i wear, the metal rubs on my belly when i sweat and i get this rash, i've had this for a few years now so its nothing new, but i don't know if its from that. i looked at some blood tests that i had done about a year and half ago after feeling sick a month after i stayed in bed for about a week with the flu, i hope that's what it was (i had fever, sore throat, i was sweating and i felt really weak. i got better after a week but after a month when i returned back to work i started feeling sick and weak so i went to see the doctor and they told me its nothing and it will go away, an it did. anyway i looked at those blood tests from back then and they are almost identical to the ones i got now, mild neutropenia, mild lymphocytosis and mild eosinophilia, it hasn't changed by much even if a year and half passed. my red blood cells and white blood cells are normal, they never dropped or raised. i've seen about 4 different doctors, 3 of them were blood specialists and they told me its nothing bad but they couldn't tell me what it is exactly.

on some days i feel weird, i get a bit dizzy and i feel nauseous, it's not that extreme, but i do feel it. i happens once or twice a week, it happened today and i would really like some suggestions on what other tests i should have done and what else should i have examined.

i haven't been sick in the last year at all, no cold, nothing so why do these results keep coming up?

why haven't the results changed at all for a year and half?

i figure if it would have been something bad they would change to worse but they are almost identical to the result from a year and half ago. someone please give me some advice because i feel like i'm going nuts.

first i started having sinus tachycardia, i still have problems every other day, my heart starts beating fast and pumping hard suddenly, even when i sit and watch a tv and i make no effort at all, now im on beta blockers and to top it off these blood results won't change. here is a copy of my last blood test, if anyone wants to take a look at it, you can find it here! http://www.imagehost.ro/pict/28003954488ceb2a41f9d.JPG

please people give me some advice, this can't be normal! i've looked on tons of sites and i can't get any clear answer and i really hope i don't have leukemia or any kind of lymphoma or that i am developing this, i'm too young to be worrying about my health so much :(

i would like to add that i have dark circles around my eyes well underneath and sometimes i look pale. i also read on one of my blood tests something about polymorph lymphocites, i hope i'm translating it properly. is that anything to worry about?

thank you

  • Oh my gosh!!! I am almost EXACTLY like you! To make a Very long story short.....my health has been going down hill for years. I have been diagnosed with sinus tachycardia, put on meds and have had neutropenia and lymphocytosis for years!! I went around to the docotors and got 9 years worth of blood tests that all said the same thing. I did my own research and found a doctor (an oncologist) thousands of miles away from me and he looked at my tests. He said I had severe neutropenia and mild lymphocitosis. He had me tested for LGL leukemia and that is not what is causing the neutropenia but something is! I am so frustrated at the lack of answers. I have been to DOZENS of doctors. I am actually going to see another oncologist, hematologist in about a month and hope they will find some answers. Please let me know if you have found out anything about you.BE CAREFUL, you can get sick so easily with neutropenia and it is a blood disorder that not a lot of doctors are familiar with and they will dismiss it quickly. I think that is what makes me SO crazy!! I get sick so easily, i get mouth sores, colds, lung infections, throat infections, and this tachycardia crap! So.........I know how you feel.I hope you find answers soon and I will let you know how my appointment goes.

  • Hi, you'll probably not see this answer anymore, it's too long time ago , but anyway: 1. I think you might have had infectious mononucleosis, did you ever have a mono test ? Epstein-Barr virus may reactivate as any other Herpes virus and give similar symptoms. 2. A morphology report of ythe lymphs would help. 3. Your neutropenia is not severe and it might be that these values are actually NORMAL for you ! Remember anyway that the important thing is the absolute value, not percentage and yours are not too far from standards. I would test EBV (=Epstein Barr Virus) and have a simple blood smear . If these are ok, simply forget it !!!!!!!!! • Hi Guys,I am also suffering from the same disorder which is Neutropenia. I have been doing some research about it and think there might be something common among all of us.I suppose for your tachycardia you're on some Beta Blocker medicine which is also a hypertension medicine. I am also on another type of hypertension medicine so called ACE inhibitors and a fairly new genre called ARBS. I have been on the ACE inhibitor for about 7 years and suddenly realized my neutrophils count dropped from around 6000 to less than 4000. I have been consulting with a lot of doctors and doing some research on the internet and believe all these symptoms belong to the the adverse effects of hypertension medicine. You can discuss it with your doctors and ask for alternative medicines. What I noticed is that, after changing the medicine, the neutrophils will start to increase gradually, then start to drop again!I have been off my meds for a while and noticed an increase as well. As it seems these hypertension panaceas all have some very bad side effects, some common among all.I hope you can find your answer soon and get well.Oh my gosh!!! I am almost EXACTLY like you! • Thank you for the replies, i only just got to see them now. I've had this problem since 2007 and i just had some bloodwork done and it seems to be the same. Nothing has changed during the last 3 years, all the values are the same. I can rule out the beta-blockers in my case because i only started taking them two years ago. I will look into getting tested for the Epstein-Barr virus just in case it's that. I don't know what more to say, if anyone has anymore info please post it here since it seems i'm not the only one with the problem. If i ever find out what it is, i will come back and let you know.

  • Sorry to hear of your predicament! I have also done a blood test and it came out that my WBC count was normal but had neutropenia and lymphocytosis! Did you find out want the problem was! Need answer. I suspect it is a mild infection so will go for another blood work soon to monitor that it is not any form of cancer! Thank for the forum!
