Starting about 2 years ago I started to experience a cramping like sensation in my upper abdominal area around the same location where the xiphoid process is located. It also happens when I do abdominal workouts or yoga moves that require bending over. It doesn't occur all the time. It has kept me from doing yoga and many work outs. It is painful but doesn't last long (several seconds maybe up to 30/45 seconds). It feels like a knot is formed and I can feel when it releases. Any ideas? I've had an ultrasound completed about 6 months ago. Nothing abnormal was noted.
