Am 75, a Veteran, I get numbness in the left shoulder and left-side of my neck at times daily and through the night while sleeping. Started about 3 years ago and has increased in daily frequency now. I usually can stop it by moving my head position. Happens during the day the way I sit, stand, auto driving position and at bed time with head to pillow position.
VA Hospital Xray says:
REPORT: Neural foramina well-maintained. Mild retrolisthesis of C3 is noted with respect to C4. Advanced facet joint disease is noted at C3-C4 & C4-C5 levels. Vertebral body heights are normal. Disc spaces are fairly well maintained.Mild uncovertebral joint disease is noted. Multilevel facet hypertrophy is present.
IMPRESSION: Advanced multilevel facet joint disease is prominent at C3-C4 and C4-C5 levels.
CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN THIS IN AVERAGE DEFINITION THAT I CAN UNDERSTAND? Any other advice would be appreciated.
