What could be causing me to have recurring and very painful scabs in my nose?

In October of this past year I got a scab that just showed up in my left nostril. it was painful to begin with, but after several days the pain became unbearable and started to spread accost my cheekbone. This frightened me, so I went to the ER. The doctor said it was an abscess and shoved a needle in my nose. Not only was that horrible, but NO puss came out! He gave me a Rx for antibiotics and that was that. I have since had it come back on the left side, then on the right, and right now it is on both sides.

I am a Type 1 Diabetic (for 30 years now). I'm wondering if this could be from my condition or even worse, going to affect my condition.
I just want this to stop happening! HELP ME!!!!! Please ;)
