My calves have been twitching non stop for almost a full year. They also cramp up everytime I point my toes down or engage them at all. I went to my primary doctor in February, 7 weeks into the twitching. He thought restless leg syndrome but sent me for MRI and EMG to be sure. The EMG and MRI both came back normal. It is now 9 months later and it hasn't gotten better. My magnesium levels were also normal.

  • My calves are so cramped that I am in my bed a lot these days. My forearms are also very weak. Magnesium, calcium and potassium could be deficient, but no matter what I take I see no improvement. What I think the root of the problem is SIBO, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth. The bad bacteria crowd out the good that you need to absorb the minerals. Do you have any digestive symptoms like burping, heartburn, fullness after meals, constipation, diarrhea, or gassiness?
