Pain-Not Just Joint

My pain is throughout my body. Often feels like it is in the bone up and down my arms and left. It is severe enough to incapacitate me at times. After a severe car wreck I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and Neuropathy. Two ribs had to be removed with other multiple surgeries.

The pain medications did not make the pain dissipate they only caused me to not care and incapacitated me more. Lyrica caused me to curl into a fetal position and could only make guttural noises. After I stopped taking all pain medications, I found if occasionally I could get one good nights sleep, I could deal with it mentally. Staying busy and active relieves more pain than medicine. I still have to sometimes take Aleve or Motrin, but limit myself. HOWEVER, sometimes the pain is so excruciating that I cannot move. I have to force myself to get up and walk around.

There has to be a cause and a treatment. Labels just don't cut it.

  • I had similar except my pain was only a burning in my major joints that woke me up at night and prevented going back to sleep. I also discovered that only getting up and exercising was the only thing that would help. Neurontin 300mg and Alleve before retiring helped but I would rather exercise.

  • I too have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia & osteoarthritis. The pain is absolutely unbearable at times. The meds do not help during a flare up. I totally agree about finding a cure, but ig they would have to find the cause. I can not understand how this has not been figured out yet. At least they finally label it as an actual disorder & not just in our heads! The very few meds that r approved for fibro i cannot take.
