I have been having on and off issues for a year or so now with intense itching all over my body but most severe on my scrotum. I have had issues with yeast infections in the past and am pre-diabetic or if not very close to it according to my doctor. I just went for updated bloodwork the other day. I have tried everything and it is driving me crazy and even preventing me from working. I have been to a urologist and a dermatologist and nobody knows quite what is wrong. I had Leukemia as a child and had severe radiation to my testicular area so I am not sure if that has something to do with it. But I doubt it because I had the radiation at around 7 years old and the symptoms just showed up a year ago (I am 35 now). I am about 100 pounds overweight and drink rather heavily so I feel it probably has something to do with that. I have tried all kinds of creams and sprays and pills both prescribed or over the counter and most things either don't work or work very temporarily and the itching comes back soon after. The problem will eventually go away for a week or a few weeks but always seems to come back. Does anyone have this problem or know what it may be. Everything itches. My scalp, my arms, my legs, my ankles, my feet, my face, my upper body...but the most severe itching is right on the scrotum. And help would be appreciated. I don't know how much longer I can stand this!

  • The itching may be caused by diaphoresis (over sweating) which is common for overweight folks.

  • You might have a liver function blood panel checked. I have the same type of itching and thought I had developed an allergy to sweat. I didn't. My liver was not functioning as it should and this is one of the primary symptoms. Just an idea. My diagnosis never, once, occurred to me before blood tests and a liver biopsy was done.

  • It could be gout. Right before my first attack I remember itching all over, especially my feet. Overweight is a big factor with ALL ailments, could be just a poor diet, no exercise which usually brings low self esteem, etc. All this brings on ailments.
