My 17 month old suddenly started having issues of extreme pain where she stiffens her legs and body like a board and screams in agony. I took her to the ER where they did an X-ray and said she was not constipated but suffering spasm episodes in her bowel. Her primary care gave her hycosamine for spasms with no relief, she was xrayed again after having 30 + episodes per day and said to be constipated. Given miralax, suppositories and prunes. Cut out any food that causes constipation but she still continues to have these intense episodes despite being able to go to the bathroom. I finally made an appointment with a gastroenterologist because her primary care doctor and local ER have no idea what is going on. When I asked the nurse at the gastro office to make sure this is a symptom of her gut they refused to give any answers because they have never seen her. Has anyone had a child with these symptoms? If so is it stomach or intestinal? Is it seizures or neurological? She seems there when the episodes are happening so that's why I'm leaning towards stomach but nothing is helping and I don't want to wait the month to get into the Dr just to be told it is something else. Any help is appreciated
