  • i'm a cajun, and our life down here in bayou country revolves aroud food. i'm also lactose intolerant and abdominal gas can sometimes make me feel like i'm having a heart attack! (my heart is perfect and bp 120/80).symptoms: big blunt pain in center of chest, short nausea, sweating, anxiety, pain radiating from chest to shoulders, sharp chest pains:::all kinds of stuff. the docs around here refer to that as a "hung ***t". dont ask me where they get hung though.:) maybe it's something like that or maybe its panic attacks. i get those too.

  • I am 34 and have all of this.....I do however only have one ovary and I am pretty sure I am starting to go through menopause, I have missed my period that has been coming every 24 days for over a year now. I now know that is a sign of the start of the "change" as well. I do also have anxiety problems and take medication for it. If you haven't seen a dr you might need to because even being 30 you could still be starting to go through it. UNFORTUNATLY!

  • Also, see a doctor and have your hormonal levels checked. You may have problems with hyperthyroidism but also there could be a number of other underlying causes including cancers. Hyperthyroidism often occurs during and after pregnancy, so if you had a child recently that might explain it.See a doctor about your problem.

  • I get hot flashes and sweat a couple of times a day. I also suffer from anxiety/panic disorder and am 32 years old. I've never had children and to think this could be early menopause scares me to death! What tests do you ask of your doctor? I made an appointment for Thursday.

  • I have the same issues. I am 33 and I started getting a hot red face and a blotchy chest accompanied by sweaty underarms when I was 28. I used to get it a couple times a month, now it's everyday. My doc says it's allergies. So, I have been taking meds - they're not working. I hope it's not menopause - I want to have a baby. I have NEVER missed my period. ..................................Oh, yea - and I'm also on anti anexiety meds. They're seems to be a connection between the 2. Anyone else have ideas?

  • Hello, I am new to this site. I totally understand what you all mean. I'm 34 (Feb 2009) I had a baby girl Dec 13th 2007, well Dec 26th I woke up green & was throwing up (no morning sickness at all during pregnancy) early next morning I woke about 3am to a huge rash across my abdomen, I ended up having to go on prednisone well, that got rid of the rash, also it kept reoccuring, had to go on prednisone again, I was 160lbs pre-preg, then 200lbs at birth, 179lbs six wks post partum checkup, i am NOW 189, I WAS 196 a few months ago, I eat fresh fruits & veggies (always have) farmers markets NO junk at all, no soda etc. very healthy, i've been under MAJOR stress since baby has been born, my husband had a total nervous breakdown, so I've been on my own taking care of baby & I work, we moved, now things have calmed down a little, but I have SUCH hot flashes for several months now, I am very slowly losing weight, my periods are weird, stronger, I have Ovulation pain & my last menstral cycle was SO painful, I almost went to the hospital. today was about 51 degrees, I was sweating so much I had to change my shirt. My underarms on many shirts are soaked, I hardly wear light colors because of it! I've been working with an Endocrineoligist, so far we found low Iron, and one time cortisol was low, that's all, I did a recent "morning cortisol, ACTH, prolactin, all came back fine now...yet Im still dealing with sweats, when ppl are walkin around in coats & sweaters, Im in a white "wife beater" tank top, I don't know what to do anymore?

  • What could this be, I've been tested at the endocrinologist's, I just left a message today on their machine, that I saw the labs appear to be "in normal range" this time, but I am still having symptoms, all I can say, if there is nothing "hormonal" it MUST be underlying stress, sleep deprivation & things like that. It may take a long time, I could be sensitive to sugars & carbs. So it's gonna be a while until I feel normal...if at all

  • I am new to this site too. I am 28 now, I started having the hot flashes when I was 26. I have gone to every doctor imaginable and nothing. All hormone levels are normal, I am on birth control and have been since I was 16, no changes in birth control. Went to endo doctor and he said everything was normal. Went to all kinds of specialists, normal. I don't consider breaking in to a severe heat, redness, and sweating normal. I have my period normal and I am not on any anxiety meds. I also work-out at least once a day, maybe twice and I am still gaining weight. I am not overweight but the amount of exercise I do I should be a skeleton. If anyone figures this out I am extremely interested.

  • Also, see a doctor and have your hormonal levels checked. --- I agree -- have your hormonelevels checked. I got "hot flashes" if I had low blood sugar though -- pay attention to see if there is some such tie for you. If it proves to be hormones, you can do "hormone replacement" via taking DHEA and pregnenolone, from which your body makes its own estrogen, testosterone, and progesterone. Your DHEA level peaks at 30 and wanes thereafter. The dose taken in hundreds of studies OF FIFTY+ year olds, is 50 mg. So maybe a simple 5 mg or some such small dose would help you. It IS hormone replacement and you would need to educate yourself on that. I learned via Life Extension Foundation (www.lef.org). Vitamin E is supposed to help with hot flashes. I never had much of a problem with that but I take 1 gram of E every day. Also, I suspect you may only notice the symptoms if you are running at a high cortisol level ... cut down on caffeine and take b vitamins. Your cortisol:DHEA level is what governs how much stress you can take. Two cups of coffee raise cortisol 35%. After age 30 you can tolerate progressively less "stress" meaning cortisol, such as you get from caffeine.
