Here is what is going on with me. I am a 23yr.old women, who had a surgery in October 2006, ever since then I have been sick. I found out that I have a cyst that they couldn't remove, because endometriosis. I don’t even know if that is important. I have been sick. I have been in the hospital about 4 times in about 2months.

They drew my blood (after the 3rd time on agate of trying to get my blood to file a vile.) They say I have pleurisy and a viral illness, they don’t know what the virus is, but it is not the flu. Then I woke up screaming and even 2 Vicadin didn’t help so back I went to the hospital and again I have pleurisy and get over it basically. Now at this point I would have pleurisy for 3 weeks. Still getting sick went back to the hospital because the symptoms continued to get worse. Now I went back to the hospital and this time I was told I was depressed I am no such thing. I am mad, because no one can find anything wrong, but not depressed. There is my story. Here are my symptoms and if you have an idea I would love to hear it.

-Muscle Pain
-Joint Pain
-Hurts to breathe
-Loss of Appetite

-Frequent Urination (with lack of any urine)
*but no pain.

-Shooting burning pain (Just started Sunday)

-Stabbing pain (the pain that started it all)
*in the chest and now in my whole body.

-Hurts in the back of my eyes
-Muscle Spasms
- Lack of Sleep
-Feels like I broke my whole body, I can not move more than a few times in a day.

-Swollen glands
-Sore throat
-Face is even sore
- I threw up cough grounds and can’t keep anything down so now I have to take stomach medicine before I can even eat.

They have found ½ the time I was low in potassium. I do not have diabetes and not pregnant. It hurts to even write this. Thank you.

  • There is a reason for pain you have most likely do from the endo you have. because of the scar tissue which effects the nerves. it is very painful and you should be treated by a pain managment specialist i have a close friend that has endo. The only thing that helps her is very strong pain meds because they cant do anything more because of the scar tissue. I hope this is helpful:) jen

  • Has any doctor mentioned the possibility of an autoimmune disease/condition, like lupus? I would look up autoimmune diseases, specifically lupus, to see if that sounds familiar. Ask to get blood tests for autoimmune diseases, but, remember, not all the time do blood tests come back positive for autoimmune problems even if you do have one. Maybe see a rheumatologist?Good luck!

  • Look into RSD. I too only had a surgery but I had mine on my foot ever since I too have been sick and in extream pain to find out it was RSD. I hope this isnt what you have but if it is the sooner you start treament is best to try to put it into remission. the longer you go without treatment the likely it will spread and be permanent.

Thank you.Ok - pleurisy is an inflammation of the pleura - basically the lining that covers the lungs and chest wall. It gets inflammed and then rubs together. There are a lot of different causes. So with pleurisy I would expect chest pain, difficulty breathing, some muscle aches and generalized pain. In addition, the most common cause of pleurisy is young adults is a viral or bacterial respiratory infection - which would result in some of the other symptoms (swollen glands, sore throat). In addition, there are auto-immune diseases that can cause a pleurisy. The inflammation can take a couple weeks to go away - you should have been prescribed an anti-inflammatory medication. What did the labs say? What did your chest x-ray reveal? Did they do a sputum test?Low potassium can also cause muscle pain.
