Swollen Little Finger

About a year ago my little finger started to swell and was painful near the joint but the joint itself was not swollen, just the skin around it. At one point my hands and feet were swollen but that only lasted a few days and then it was back to just the little finger. I also had painful spots/dots under the skin. I went to the doctors and tried a variety of things, antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, x-ray's and blood tests, ruled out gout and rheumatoid arthritis but still could not find a cause. After months it just disappeared on its own. Now it's come back and I'm getting fed up. I have a few pictures:
