Sharp Pain Before Bowel Movement

Hi everyone. I was hoping to get some opinions on what might be going on here. I'm a 20 year old male with no history of gastrointestinal problems.

For the past couple days, I've been getting sharp pains in my lower left abdomen shortly before having bowel movements. I'll get the first pain and I'll go. A couple minutes later the pain will return and I'll go again (though much less). The pain will usually start as a cramp throughout my lower abdomen, and right before the BM it becomes intense in my lower left side.

I have no other symptoms. Appetite is the same, diet hasn't changed, BM frequency is the same. I feel normal otherwise. No vomiting or anything. Just this pain.

Any ideas what this might be or how to relieve this pain? Is it just temporary or is there a cause for alarm, given there are no other symptoms?
