I have the sensation something stuck in the back of my throat on one side and when I swallow the sensation seems to more all the way down my throat. Occasional my tongue feels a little sore at the back (at the same side) as can my throat. Another thing is, if I press my throat on this side it makes a crunching sensation that’s quite unnerving
One of my tonsils is most definitely larger than the other, although I'm pretty sure this has been like this for some time (long enough for any bacterial/viral infection to clear up). There is a fleshy swollen ridge/lump behind this tonsil, although it looks pink and healthy I suspect this might explain the reason I can feel the sensation at the back of my mouth. I have in the past suffered from reoccurring tonsillitis.
After a course of antibiotics my doctor has concluded that my tonsil (or the swelling behind) is not normal and referred me to a specialist, but says it doesn’t look too nasty. My appointment is likely to take some time..
