Since July 2005, I have been suffering on unknown infection and lots of symptoms. At begining, I had swollen parotid glands, sore throat, burning skin, stiffy neck, and then joint (knee) pain until now headache. For the past 18 months, I had TB skin test (positive, but X- ray normal), FTA-ABS (normal), Hep C (normal), and hundreds of other lab test. ALL of them are normal. But all symptoms are clearly existing. Besides, I feel my immune system is weak and I very easily get a cold or flu. So, anyone is familiar with these symptoms and can give suggestions? Thanks!

  • have your thyroid checked, and do some research. some doctors aren't fully educated about proper thyroid testing and diagnosis, so they may be telling you it's normal.

Thanks!I can't believe im the first person to say lyme disease. It doesn't show up on 15% of peoples blood work. It gives the same symptom. I can tell this is probably lyme. Ask your doctor, because it may be more advanced by now.IF not lyme, it's probably a syndrome that cannot be proven, chronic fatigue is my guess.

  • Hi All, please help me,A couple of months ago i discovered I had tiny lumps under my skin on my legs and arms. Went to the doctor who tested me for cancer, the next day she asked if I can come in and do a sonar. This is the following problems they found: Cysts on my thyroid, left breast, kidney, and I tested positive for ovarian cancer. Went to a specialized surgeon who examined me but said that he can’t find anything wrong. Went to see a urologist for my kidney who also said nothing is wrong with me, last but not least went to my gynea who said that there is something wrong but it might not be cancer. Only 15 % of my body’s system is working the 85 % don’t. He said that something is attacking my nervous system and he has no idea what it can be. I have to go see a dermatologist next week. At this moment I have a swollen thyroid which is extremely painful and I have a cold. If anyone knows what might be wrong with me please, please can you help me? I wasted so much money on these specialists and I still don’t have an answer.

  • Four years ago, I had a series of things to start happening. Lost of hair on left eyebrow, very lethargic, moderate hair lost in patches, loss of hearing...etc...I went to many specialists but it was not until I went to the Endocrinologist that he tested me for the antibody that causes Hashimoto (my husband read about this online and thought that it was the source)...well it came back positive. And basically this is an thyroid autoimmune disease. So depending on how the immune system is attacking my thyroid it can cause symptoms of hyper or hypothyriodism...my rheumatoid factor was high as well. Now I just take a hormone supplement and have frequent TSH T3/T4 testing to make sure my levels are good.

  • I have the same problem, swollen glands, sore throat, headache, achy, my immune system is practically dead, & my knees have gotten so painful I can't walk.My doctor has no idea what's wrong with me & thinks I hurt my knees & just won't own up to the incident.I learned today that this is from strep throat, something about the infection attacks behind your knee caps & it's a lot like arthritis in your knees.

It could be Hashimoto's Thyroiditis.

  • Hi,It sounds as if you might have an immune deficiency disease like I do. I suffered for 21 years before I was diagnosed because the docs would do blood tests of my immune system and when they would come back normal they thought I was fine. But they didn't know that some immune diseases can be present even when immune blood tests come back normal.I think you should go to www.primaryimmune.org, the website for the Immune Deficiency Foundation, and read up on some of the diseases to see if they sound like you. Then you can download a booklet on Clinical Diagnosis that tells your doctor what tests to do, or you can have your doc take advantage of their FREE consulting program, where an IDF immunologist consults with your doctor.Good luck and keep us posted,E
