Hello,
Over the past year or so my cheek on the right side of my face only, seems to be loosing muscle or tissue. As a result, my cheek looks like it is caving in all through the area located right in front of the ear. There is occasionally a tingling associated with this side as well. This is not happening on the left side. I have been to a few doctors that do not seem concerned however I am worried if this continues that eventually that side will look like a skeleton. Has anyone ever heard of anything like this?

Thanks

  • I have had the same thing happen to me over the course of about 21/2 years and have always have chunky cheeks until it started happening and my fiance' said you have a dent in your cheek! It is very frustrating to not know what is causing this. I have gone to several sinus specialists and doctors but the mri's and cat scans don't show anything out of the ordinary and the doctors didn't think it was that important but the progressive sunkeness is obvious and can be seen and felt and I have the numbness/tingling in that cheek about once a month or so, and it is a very scary thing to have because I don't know what is causing it and thought it was over-using my cell phone or something cause that's the side I use most but maybe it is my sinuses, but there is so much tissue loss I wonder if it is a cancer or if I will have to get some sort of tissue implant one day or if this is a terminal illness or what. I am only 27 years old. So please reply if you know anyone who knows what this could be, thanks.

I got scared pinched my cheek drank lots of water gatorade. I don't know it's never happened to me before. I mean i could literally put my fingers and feel the dent on my cheek. I am scared, if you find out what this is before i do will you please let me know? PLEASE!
