I need answers !!! I have been having rib pain for about 7 years on my upper right quandrant of my adbomen, with no real diagnosis. All of a sudden this year, I have a cancerous lung nodule on my lower right rib. I am going through all the steps with cancer----but was just wondering, if anyone out there has had or heard of any kind of relationship for these two conditions. Thank you. Desperate Lulucs60.

  • I am very very interested in what you said....I have 'rib pain' on the left side. There are 'lumps' about the size of a 'fingernail' going around on the and in the middle of ribs on left side. I also have a very strange pain just under my last rib on the left...sort of sharp and at times stabbing. I also have 'pain' in my left scapular area. Please explain in detail the nature of the rib pain you talked about.I had a chest X-ray recently and it said clear except for 'infilltrate' noted...but it did not even say which side or where in lung. This is the same result I got last time I had the X-ray. What should I do??? How did your pain change ?I will be waiting for your answer....I live where IKE the hurricane is going to strike so it may end up being next week before I get back on here....Please,again...explain in detail about your pain.Thanks...

  • Over a month ago I became very ill. I was 1st diagnoised with pnuemonia and plerisy in my left lung. I had Severe pain in under my left ribs (top to bottom) felt very sharp and stabbing and of course was much worse when I tried to take a deep breathe or yawned and oddly when I tried to move around and wash myself, etc. I was given tons of medication and they wanted to hospitalize me but had no beds available. Running high temp and having chills and my hair and shirts, gowns would be soaking wet. The pain was horrible but I was just so sick it was horrible. I went to another e.r. and the Dr. decided my chest xray looked suspicious and did a ct scan with dye ( Also I want to say I had NO CHEST pains whatsoever and barely any coughing). This ct scan revealed I have multiple nodules in my left lung. I am going for a biopsy, have seen a lung specialist. she told me it's either a bad infection or I'm looking at lung cancer. I was a smoker for yrs so of course I am concerned. But I have taken tons of anti-b's, steriods and using inhalers. Also have pain medication but its pretty mild and I am in such pain 24/7. I have never felt pain like this and I've lived with lupus, fibro, R/A for 12 yrs.My point here is that I believe you both should have a doctor run a CT Scan with dye to really look into your lungs and then have the biopsy done so that you can see what this is. Also, I had no symptoms or pain in this area until this began a little over a month ago.I wish you both well and you are in my prayers. Please let me know what you find out. Concerned,D.

  • Just wanted to say I am thinking of you and finally someone helped you. I still don't know what is going on and can't find a doctor who takes me seriously. I think it is like you said unless you are in such bad pain they just don't listen or think they have all the answers when with the tests like MRI and Cscans that is no excuse for not getting them ordered when someone complains like we have and like you did. Just wanted you to know I am thinking of you. Please come back here and let me know how you are doing. You have lots ahead of you but you sound like a real fighter so I am fighting for you too. Know I care even tho I don't know you. Wish there was some way to contact you outside of here ..but if there is ,I don't know what it is.....again, thinking of you....and all you will have to face.
