About twice a year I get a small lump/lumps (between 1 and 3 at a time) under my skin always on my left hand on or around my little finger. Over a couple of days gets really sore and inflamed and fills with puss and then it seems to dry up of its own accord and shrinks back to a little dot. I am sure this is not just a normal spot as it always returns in the same place. Doctor said it was a fungal infection and I have some cream to reduce it but it has been re-occuring like this for about 4 years, it is usually gone by the time I can get a Doctors appointment. Any ideas?

  • Have they ever burst so u get puss out of them ? Now this is pure guessing is there any chance u have pricked urself with thorns or something like it ? is it possible that something remains in it ? Why i ask.....having pricked myself before even broke a sewing machine needle in my finger leaving a bit in it, it festered & worked its way out puss included........this may not be the case if it keeps returning but maybe there is something in it that u are not getting out. Heres something that u could try, it works for me on boils so i would guess it would work on this......maybe worth a try if someone doesn't come up with something else. To draw the puss out and anything else that might be in there use clinique clarifing lotion, just clean it with this then put cream on it, it weakens the skin & draws puss out, its not known for this but in desperation i tryed it & it worked......tryed many other things before this which didn't work. Hope this helps.........Regards :)

  • Thanks I have managed to burst them but only manually to relieve the inflammation, there is probably a distance of around 5cm between the one I have on my hand now and the one that appeared 6 months ago...so not sure if there is anything in there???

  • I have the same problem, sores on my shines, upper back & sometimes on the top of my head. Mainly my problem started in my ears 15 years ago and have been treated with antio-biotics, cream, etc. Also been to an ENT specialists, finally about 2 or 3 years ago I had a nurse do a culture on it, it ended up being Staph Aerures. I still have a lot of problems, like i said above they just won't go away, it had spread. They hurt, they itch & puss is always coming out of them. I'm not saying this is what you have & i'm not sure if i spelt it right. I've tried some many ways to try to get rid of it & it is determined to stick with me. I'm sorry i can't give you any advice since i'm still searching for the proper help, that's if it's not too late. Good LuckJoanne

Any ideas?Do not pop it, this could spread the infection. This is a type of herpes (also known as cold sores) that is occurring. It is a virus that will always been in your system, this is why it keeps reoccurring. I know this because, I also occasionally get them.
