Every where I go, they seem to tell me that fasting removes yellow eyes because of dietary intake. I am on a water only fast that has lasted so far 6 days. During my fast my became very noticably yellow. I was taking lamisil for a toe nail fungus about 4 months ago, that the doctor took me off of. They said it didn't injur my liver but wasn't reacting to it well. Do you think that could have something to do with this?? Thanks for your help!!!

  • STOP FASTING IMMEDIATELY!!! Go to the Emergency Room!Yellow eyes is JAUNDICE .... your liver is being hurt by your fasting on only water for 6 days. GO to the ER immediately! You are very sick.... and need medical attention immediately! Fasting can trigger prophyria attacks.... I suspect your porphyria levels are also elevated. You need to be seen by the drs asap! • I can't believe how ignorant you are. You need to see another doctor and have extensive blood work. Your liver is impaired and your body may be shutting down. I'd like you to explain your logic behind starving yourself. You were not on a fast. A good fast provides all the nutritional requirements to maintain your body through balanced juices. What do you think you were doing? Get some help and next time, consult with a naturopathic doctor or do your homework online.

  • Please get to a dr as soon as possible.... you need medical attention. I am worried about you. Let me know how you are doing. Every where I go, they seem to tell me that fasting removes yellow eyes because of dietary intake. You had yellow in the eyes before the fast even... yikes. You had jaundice which indicates a liver problem of some sort. You should not be fasting at all as that will hurt your liver further.:( I am on a water only fast that has lasted so far 6 days. During my fast my became very noticably yellow. The fast is hurting your body; your liver is sick now and you have jaundice.:( I was taking lamisil for a toe nail fungus about 4 months ago, that the doctor took me off of. They said it didn't injur my liver but wasn't reacting to it well. Your liver was affected by the Lamisil... that was why you had jaundice. It was inflamed by the drug. Do you think that could have something to do with this?? No the Lamisil didn't do this, your fasting for 6 days plays havock with your liver and also your GI tract... and numerous other organs in your body. Anybody with a hx of jaundice (turning yellow in the eyes), liver problems should not be fasting except under a qualified drs care perhaps. Please get help for yourself as soon as possible; as you are doing damage to your body (your liver is screaming for help! tdwi Thanks for your help!!!I am praying for you to get to a dr right away so you don't further make your self sick.

  • If you have yellow eyes I think you definitely need to go and see a Naturopath, I wouldn't go to see a normal doctor as he will just prescribe you some medicated drugs, but you need to see someone who will help you improve your whole health and address your diet.

  • I had yellow eyes and skin went to the hospital they ran texts and I have damage to my liver. The first thing they did was put me on a fast for four days water, jello, and broth only. Of course complete bedrest during. I had three dr's working with me they advised that I fast once a month for 2 to 4 days. I was told that this would help to clean out my liver for it is not functioning properly. Of course no alcohol ever. limit my caffeine, cut out the fats and they put me on a water pill. I do agree that you should see a doctor. in your defence the yellow skin and eyes it happened to me and I felt fine looked like I had a golden tan I didnt notice my eyes until my skin started to peel and I looked in the mirror they were slightly off white and swollen very swollen by the time I got to the hospital. I was on vacation. Its not like panic Im yellow! so I do understand your confusion. Oh by the way try and eat organic healty foods. Stay away from chemicals or toxins. In my yard I use all natural products. Did you know 10% of everything on your skin goes into the bloodstream think about that your poor liver has to clean all that out and obviously ours is not working right simple things like that can help to give it a rest. Try shopping at Whole Foods. Be careful when taking herbs some of them we cannot have.

  • I find it pathetic that people come on this site and think they are doctors. Making fun of a person who isn't in tune with their body or is ill informed is a really crummy thing to do....giving them poor advice and frightening the ***l out of them is pathetic. First of all, this person may have yellow eyes for a number of reasons that has nothing to do with a failing liver. I will not waste my breath trying to diagnose someone I haven't even seen based on a few symptoms. I don't think any doctor OR ND would recommend a six day fast without any form of nourishment. It just isn't healthy and I don't have to investigate a body to know this....there are a few extremely rare situations where temporary nourishment to the body must be stopped TEMPORARILY because it is a situation of life or death....this is EXTREMELY rare. So...seeing this person is able to type this up this isn't the case and nourishing the body is the way to go. Water fasts aren't healthy...clean eating and juicing vegetables, etc. is ideal, along with an ND approved cleanse kit. Stop fasting please....if you don't believe me...go see a doctor. As for the eyes....of course it could be a liver issue but that is not the only explanation.... If you have yellow eyes I recommend you see a DOCTOR. Not an ND ... if it is organ damage, you want to know, if it isn't, they can find out what it is. For your info, doctors will not prescribe drugs casually to someone who may have a liver issue. And an ND isn't the best person to see, in this case. Doctors tend to overdo it on the antibiotics, but they aren't idiots...you don't get through med school by being an idiot. Do doctors make mistakes...absolutely....do they make ridiculously stupid mistakes where they will ask a patient with a possible liver issue to take magic pills to cure it when meds can only hinder the liver further...not likely. I am an ND....I used to be an MD...I got out of it because I hated telling people they were terminal. I didn't have the stomach for the bad news. When things are serious I still send people to a doctor. Natural medicine is great, but there are things that only real drugs can cure...like it or not....I will not lie to people and tell them that they have a chance in ***l curing cancer with natural medicine...it is a crock and if anyone says so they should be charged. Life is about balance...there are reasons you go see people in my profession....and then there are reasons you go see MDs. People never really understood this but you need to be smart and know when to see one or the other. If eyes are going yellow I would go to a doctor right away, they may send you to an Opthalmologist or another specialist, likely give you blood work, etc.....but the eyes are fragile and you don't want to mess with them or your liver if it be the case...go to a doctor. Any responsible ND would just send you off to a doctor. NDs are experts are boosting your immune system and working slowly to reach long term healthy goals...they can also give you quick fixes to ease and speed up recovery for when you have a virus or some bacterial infections....BUT even then...if the problem persists and your system isn't doing it on its own....you have to consider that if it is between drugs or death...you want the hardcore drugs. To the original poster....stop fasting, go see a doctor and next time....don't wait to go. To everyone else, it is harmful to send someone off to an ND if the situation is bad and they require a doctor....we went from one extreme to the other (now people think they don't have to see doctors at all)....there is a balance. Also, don't assume the worst...all you do is stress someone out that is already scared.Cheers
