I've had a mouth condition for some time now (as long as I can remember) that didn't bother me one little bit but has bothered my dentist and she's sent me off to a specialist but there's a two month wait!

I went to my doctor who said he had no idea what it was!

The condition is a white film that follows the pattern of the lower lip. It's flaky (peels) and seems to be disappear completely and then return!

Any ideas?

  • I don't have any idea. I have the same thing though and have been trying to figure out what it is. So far I haven't had any ideas what it could be from. At first I thought it was from drinking hot liquids that were just too hot. It has been there for at least two weeks now and I am beginning to really wonder what it is. I think that I am going to go to the doctor because I have had really no leads.

  • This sounds like leukocytosis. The cause could be from something like an allergic reaction all the way up to leukemia. I had it a few times in a month a few years ago. Nothing since.

  • I have the very same thing, on the inside of my bottom lip and now the inside of the upper lip. It is like an off white color sometimes clear but it feels a bit ruff to the touch of my tongue. I have had it now for about two years and I see my VA Doctor tomorrow, but I also read one reply saying he saw his Dermatologist and they said it was a fungus. I will tell my doctor this and find out more tomorrow and I will reply with what I find out

  • I have the same thing but I'm pretty sure it'S because of my toothpaste and how often I brush my teeth. I'm not gonna lie some weeks where I have a lot to do I forget to brush my teeth and realized that I don'T get the inside of my lip peeling or anything like that happening. My lip peels with colgates optic white and any whitening toothpaste really when I use normal toothpaste nothing happens. I honestly don'T mind it. its actually kind of fun in a weird way lol! hope it helped!!
