For an number of years I have had spasms that start as a tightness in upper back between shoulder blades. The pain quickly becomes very painful and radiated around to the chest and sternum. The muscles are in tight spasm and hurt very much to the touch. The pain also radiates into the muscles of the throat on each sides of my esophagus. The only thing that seems to make the spasm stop is to drink a glass of water. Usually that stops spasm with a minute or two. Does anyone else have these symptoms and have you been diagnosed?

  • I have pain in my back, and neck pain (like on both sides of the carotid artery/thyroid) but one doesn't radiate to the other. They happen separately. The pain in my back is a dull ache, the pain in both sides of my neck can be a shooting pain, or a burning pain.Pain really sucks, and it makes it worse when these doc's don't have answers for ya.
