Hi Everyone,
Im a 20 year old female elite netballer who a few moths ago was diagnosed with Bilateral PAES after suffering from chronic calf muscle fatigue, pins and needles, burning & stabbing sensations in all areas from my knees down. I went to a Sports Doctor who then sent me off to a Vascular Surgeon who after MRI Scans and Ultrasound imaging confirmed my diagnosis was indeed Popliteal Artery Entrapment Syndrome. I have already undergone the experimental Botox injections behind my knees to paralyse the muscle in hope it would relieve the pain I am constantly experiencing, however this failed and I am now faced with having to have two separate surgeries on my legs to get me back to the sports I love and refuse to give up. To anyone round my age who has had the surgery either bilaterally or not, please reply and fill me in on some information for recovery and also help me decide if I should go ahead with the surgery or not so I can get back on court as soon as possible to compete at my upcoming Nationals competition, Thank you!
