Having waited for 14 months since my right leg was done, I have just had my left leg done with much more, it would seem success.
this time an s cut was made in behind my knee no nerve damage and much better mobility already. I am still in alot of pain but this is to be expected.
I am just so happy as the fear I have from my first op which had a cut to the inside of my knee paralell to the leg nicked a major nerve resulting in still a gripping, hot cold sensations driving me up the wall.
Now it's a wait rest up and not damage any of the surgeon's good work.
So the s cut is definitly the best entry for the headgastros type affliction of paes.I did post a thread on this 2 days ago so sorry if it comes up twice.
am keen to join the facebook paes group for a bit of a yarn with other paes people.
Am keen to hear what anyone knows of any nerve pain remedies, or anything to ease the horror feeling.

  • So glad to hear that this surgery went better for you this go around. Take it easy and do exactly what they tell you to do. Patience is the best thing. ;) When I was experiencing nerve pain (which I still am but not as severe), they put me on Gabapentin (generic drug of Neurotin). After increasing my dose over a few weeks, I noticed an incredible difference. However, I had increased swelling in my legs due to the drug. I took it for a year but then had to stop taking it since I got pregnant. As soon as I was taken off of it, some of my symptoms came back (still not as severe) and the swelling went away. It's worth it to ask your doctor about it especially since you are in quite a bit of pain. No pain killer can help! Also you can try Capsacin (over the counter arthristis cream) if you are having surface nerve pain...such as a feeling like you have a sunburn or you experience nerve pain only when the area is touched. I was referred to a pain specialist and he suggested this treatment. I know, sounds weird but it works. There are other medicines out there that can help you used for fibromalgia and even some anti-depressants can help. Best thing to do is talk to your doctor and possibly get referred to a pain management specialist. Good luck!
