There are a number of errors in the information posted on this website on the topic of "lymphedema" or "skin swelling". Attempts to correct some of these errors are ignored.Judging by the inaccuracies in this one small medical condition I would rate this website as a "don't visit".
Examples of misinformation are recommendation of diagnosis of skin swelling using lymphangiography in the section on skin swelling, but correctly noting that this method can cause damage and has largely been replaced by lymphangioscintigraphy in the lymphedema section.
ICD 9 codes for lymphedema are completely incorrect as given. 457.0 is post-mastectomy lymphedema, 457.1 is any other lymphedema, and 757.0 is congenital lymphedema lower limbs.
Treatment of lymphedema with "ACE bandages" is contraindicated. Should be "non-stretch bandages" or "short-stretch bandages".
Please find a medical expert who is knowledgeable and up-to-date on lymphedema and its treatment and update your information.
I would normally send a private message or use the website "comment" or "contact us" function, but neither of these routes are functional.
