A year ago after having sex at the end of my period I experienced intense pain for a week after I peed or attempted sexual intercourse. Then I experienced a lottt of itching and it just went away. About two months later I did the same thing (I know, stupid stupid stupid) and got the same exact symptoms except it never went away. It took months to be diagnosed with vulvodyina, except the wonderful thing about this condition is there's no real solution. Just messing with every creme and medication on the planet until finding the right one, which I have not. Then, last week, I got a UTI. It masked my vulvodynia symptoms because it is so much more painful. Now after antibiotics, my UTI has gone away but the symptoms are still here.
I'm only 18 years old, I live with my father and I am going through this alone. Are the UTI symptoms going to go away? Should I still be trying the traditional cranberry/probiotic mix that helps get rid of an infection, even if I don't have one? Someone please help me, I'm tired of hearing doctors push the old "wait and see" because it just never works.
