Hello all, I really hope someone has some idea's for me because I am seriously losing my mind here.
For 6 months now I have been getting up too much at night to pee; started with 2 or 3 times back in December, now it's literally every 1.5 to 2 hours throughout the night so it's impossible to get a solid, deep sleep and I am depressed and lethargic all day every day. Not just a few drops either, it's a sold release of urine and even if I only drink 2 or 3 ounces of water at night I pee out about 20.
I first thought prostate problems and had it checked but it was normal.....was started on Flomax anyway, which didn't help at all.
By February I had seen my 3rd Doctor and he did an ultrasound and found some stones in my kidneys, 2 on the left side and one on the right, but below the size to cause concern. More medicines were prescribed, but none have worked.
I saw a new set of DR's starting a month ago, got new ultrasounds, and they found a larger stone in my bladder. Thinking this was surely the cause of my problem, I agreed to a very painful operation and recovery where they went in through the ***** and removed the stone, which turned out to be calcium-based. Still no luck; it's been more than 2 weeks now since that OP and I STILL get up 5-6 times per night to relieve myself; unreal.
This urge to pee only happens at night, while lying down; in the day time I am fine. I have cut back on ALL juice and water and other drinks after say 8pm, and I have never drank coffee in my life and I imbibe very little alcohol.
The new DR's are willing to do a shockwave operation to remove the rest of my stones before they drop into my bladder as well, but at this point I am not convinced the problem is even originating in the kidneys; I am also seeing a Nephrologist and he will check my urine tomorrow, he sent me home with a jug to store all my urine for 24 hours before my appointment. For sure I am peeing out way more liquid than I am taking in on a daily basis; where the heck is all this urine being produced?
I am 49 years old, slightly overweight, generally healthy....non-smoker....all tests for diabetes are negative and my blood work and urine tests have all been negative, no uric acid and nothing to alarm the Doctors.
Any words of advice would be much appreciated, I am going crazy here and if I don't start getting back into some kind of a rhythmic pattern sleep soon I don't know what I will do. Thank You very much.
