I am a middle aged woman who has been in pain for close to 5 months. UTI, kidney stones, STDs, yeast infection and vaginosis have been ruled out, along with any bacterial/fungal infection.
Problem lies with sometimes after urination there is painful burning at the urethra, urethritis, which an antispasmodic has more or less quieted it, however when I think of sex, after urination it will start up again and become bothersome. Burning after urination. Sometimes my bladder will have some sort of discomfort for the rest of the day, and I'll think I have to urinate every so often.
Other than not thinking of sex, what types of treatments must I seek?

  • hello, sorry to hear that: seems to me you have bad cystitis...get it cleared up with GP : antibiotics, i'm afraid, after that, you CAN resume sex, but washing just before and just after sex is a simple solution that stops it reoccurring ! Your partner must also wash huimself carefully before sex, and have short clean nails if he uses his hands.....take care ! you dont have to stop sex !
