I have received the results of my Cytology (negative thank goodness) and my CT Scan is back. It shows Medullary sponge kidneys and small renal stones - small renal cyst on left kidney. I have done some research on Medullary sponge kidneys, here is some information:
Medullary sponge kidney is a congenital disorder of the kidneys characterized by a cystic dilatation of the collecting tubules in one or both kidneys. It has been estimated to occur with a prevalence of between 1 in every 5,000-10,000 individuals in a population1. In most cases, medullary sponge kidney affects only one kidney, in which case kidney function is usually preserved and individuals may be asymptomatic. However, these individuals are at increased risk for nephrolithiasis (kidney stones) and urinary tract infection.
I will still be going on November 2 to have my Cystoscopy (spelling?). It is nice to know though that I have an answer to my UTI's (Just recently had another made 7 this year - 5 in Five Months). I will also see what the doctor say about this and if there will be any further investigating - or if I will just need to be put on long term antibiotic treatment.
I hope this will give others information on why they keep getting UTI's.
Thank you for whomever reads this - i will keep you updated!
