I'm only 19 years of age, as of this past February. Here the past two years I've been having recurring bladder infections. I've seen doctors, and been to the hospital multiple times due to this. Every time I am seen I am diagnosed with a bad bladder infection, or UTI. They never say if it's reached my kidneys or not. The thing is, is that it never seems to start out as a simple UTI. It hits me in the morning and by the afternoon I'm doubled over, crying (from burning of urination, and bladder pain.. also it seems to reach my lower back), and mainly ******* blood. I never catch it in the beginning and never feel it until I'm hardly urinating and peeing blood. Which is very visible. This pain is unbearable. Might I had I do have endometriosis and genetically female problems (as in baby making problems) run strongly in my family, although I am aware that the vagina and urethra are two different areas. It seems that the problem keeps getting worse. It's got to the point where it's about every month, or every other month.. and they aren't just simple ones. I'm always crying due to them and always seem to have the blood in my urine. I recently (this past Saturday) went to the hospital for one. The past few times I've received an in and out catheter because how the blood can contaminate the urine during a sample, but no this hospital insisted on a urine sample. As I already told them they won't get anything out of me, and if they do it's little and mostly blood.. and the pain is excruciating! They ended up pumping fluids through me to get me to pee more (and the first time I've never received anything for pain and just left sitting there crying!! Kings Mountain Hospital is terrible <-- although this isn't relevant. lol!!). Let's just say I was one ****** off lady. They told me they wanted to check my kidney function, but never did. I was told to follow up with my doctor and see if she will refer me to someone.. I'm definitely doing this, but wondering if there is anyone out there that can give me some type of answer, or advice. My boyfriend and I are very clean people. I shower in the morning, and shower at night (or might bathe due to me hurting) He cuts trees for a living, and will come home with lots of wood chips all over him, he immediately showers. We're extremely careful during sex, I wear cotton underwear, or none at all. I'm extra careful with this stuff because I'm scared of getting another infection. What can be the cause of these recurring infections? ... and not feeling them until I'm ******* blood? I've never had a kidney stone.. I'm just tired of getting them, and want to know the problem. I'm a nanny for a living, and when I'm in pain like this and nauseous like I am it's not fun for me or the kids! Help, please.
If you want to ask more questions, that's fine. I'm more than willing to answer anything that could help me find a cause of this... :(
