I am male, currently 21 and this problem started 5 years ago. It started as just a feeling like I was needing to urinate constantly and when I went it was as if urine was stopping somewhere in the middle and having trouble emptying it. I have had many urine tests for UTI and its always negative, physical exam, had an ultrasound a few months after it started, I was given medicine for overactive bladder which didn't really help but was feeling better as it allowed me to hold it longer, and some antibiotics before that made my urine orange color, and some other medicine I don't know the name of.
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago after reading on these forums and I was given Enablex. I didn't want the same type of medicines ive tried before so I made sure to mention Cipro that had worked for others on here and he gave me a 10day supply. I started taking both and noticed a difference pretty much the same day. I was feeling like my bladder was emptying almost all the way again, even my urine stream looked stronger and I didn't really have to force it. I wasn't feeling 100% back to normal but for the week and a half I was taking the Cipro I was feeling around 60% better. But then day after I had finished the Cipro I started having difficult time emptying my bladder again and the constant feeling like the urine stopped somewhere in the middle. Right now I am still taking the rest of the Enablex. So what could this be? I am thinking it might be inflammation somewhere in there that is making it difficult to empty the bladder. I have not had a DRE (pretty much fearing having to have that done) but my doctor suggested I have a cystocopy done if this medicine did not work.
