Around 2 months ago I started with a UTI, pain from Urethra, needing to pee all the time but little urine comes out etc. I went to the doctors who gave me antibiotics, after a week of those nothing was better so went back to the doctors who took a urine sample and gave me more antibiotics. The urine sample came back with +1 protein and a trace of blood. I went back after another week of not feeling any better and the doctor booked me in with a nurse for swabs and took another urine sample, at this point the pains were getting worse, burning and stinging all the time not just when I pee. She also gave me some Cystitis medication, 4 sachets of Cranberry something to dissolve in water. I rang the day before my nurse's appointment for urine test results and was told the test came back normal. I then went in to see the nurse, she took a urine sample and did some dip stick tests that were abnormal. She called the Doctor in and she then told me that the very first test had shown a high level of white blood cells but the later tests didnt. She gave me yet more antibiotics and the nurse then took 2 viginal swabs, she said she saw nothing abnormal while she was there and no smell etc, I have no discharge. Today I rang for the results and got told all 3 are normal but the pain is ruining my life now, burning and stinging all of the time, no pain in the tummy or back. Just this constant burning, I now can have a normal pee, no urge to go all the time as such but the burning sensation is constant. I have took pain killers to see if they work but made no difference. They tested me for every STD known to man ( Even though I have been married 17 years ) they all came back negative. I drank Cranberry Juice like a fish for the first few weeks, now on the Barley water ( nurse advised me to drink it ) I am phoning the doctors in the morning to see what the next step is. The pain is now unbareable, my marriage isnt how it should be, we have not had sex since this started, its making us both unhappy as we used to have a healthy sex life. We have used condoms for the last year so I really doubt if I am allergic to latex. The receptionist on the phone today suggested I may be having an allergic reaction to something....I am really tired of it now, trying to get an appointment with the doctors is a task in itself, this started the 4th March, the pain is worse than when it started.
