Hi, my dad had just had a kidney stone the size of a ping poong ball removed from the urether just outside the kidneys last week. Now he is in great pain and the doctors are saying that there might be some fragments of the kidney stone that went up the kidney. the kidney is a bit inflammed and it can be seen from his back that it is slightly hotter and inflammed (felt like a lump). Can this lead to kidney failure if he remains in pain? the doctor said he might operate again to insert a tube to aid urine flow as in the morning he had some blood with the urine. can you please give me some info? thanks
