I woke up this morning with a crippling need to urinate, rushed to the bathroom and got the typical burning sensation of cystitis (I've had it twice before). However, this time was much worse and after giving up attempts to leave the bathroom I noticed blood in the toilet. However, I ran two pill packets together and believe this to be menstrual blood despite it being 3 days early. Could the early period and extreme pain be anything other than an unfortunate combination of cystitis and a period?

  • Hello,If this blood occurs again I would be checked for bladder cancer. Lots of women think blood in urine is something else, dont be afraid to ask for further diagnosis from your doctor.

  • i wouldnt jump to a cancer conclusion, but you should be able to tell if it menstrual blood. If your period does not typically come three days early i would call your doctors office tell them your symptoms and im sure theyll test your urine to see whats going on.

  • Is it normal for cystitis patients to have some urinary discharge? Lately, I can't seem to control urinating. I would have to sit firm or some urinary discharge will occur. I've sought medical help and the doctor said an operation is needed. Is there a medicine that could help me?to avoid surgery. Someone please advise me.
