Could Interstitial cystitis be detected by a cystascope?

I have an appointment with a top Uroligist on thurs. whose tests he gave me are all negative. I just read up on IC. HOW DOES ONE DIAGNOSE if I truly have IC?

  • Interstitial Cystitis, or "IC" as its known to us who have it, is diagnosed during a Cystoscopy, where everything else is ruled out first. ie. bladder cancer. There are two types of Cystoscopes (instruments) used for this procedure. One, the softer instrument, is used in the doctors office. The second Cystoscope is more rigid, and this procedure is done in the hospital, under anesthesia.Kris
