Constant urge to pee and some urinary leaking

Hey,

I am really stressing out about this problem I'm experiencing. I'm a 19 year old girl and I've always been prone to problems with my bladder- quite a few cases of cystitis and UTIs. Recently the problem has been that i constantly feel the need to wee and when I go to the toilet, there's a substantial amount of urine but I feel as though my bladder is not empty. There is no pain whilst urinating. I have also noticed that I have some minor urine leakage which makes me incredibly conscious of the smell of urine on me.

As a 20 year old girl I really find this embarrassing and feel like my bladder is prematurely failing me. I have had STI tests and UTI tests and all have come back clear, apart from one which showed a minor increase in White blood cells. After taking a short intensive course of antibiotics the problem persists.

Please can somebody give me some advice or empathise. My GP is not being particularly helpful.

Thank you xoxo

  • Seeing you are feeling like you cant empty your bladder properly (rather then this seeming like an issue of just having weak pelvic floor muscles in which urine leaks).. I suggest to ask the doctor for an referal to a urinologist for further investigation. Maybe your bladder isnt emptying well and hence the UTIs.

  • Hello! I don't know if this will apply to you because I'm a guy but if you look at the top of this forum at the ones most recently having activity, a lot of us dudes have a similar problem and we believe it is from excessive masturbation. It has been speculated and I do believe that nerves in the prostate (responsible for orgasm in a dude) kind of by the bladder are irritated and give a false impression of urination. It's like this: the moment after I pee, I still feel that urge, and I sit/stand there a few moments only to release drops and the feeling of having to pee lasts all day and all night. Ever since I've been resting my nerves by not masturbating or being aroused, my problem is getting significantly better. Once again, I barely know what I'm talking about and I know less of a female's urinary system. Have you noticed this from masturbation? Maybe nerves responsible for orgasm are stressed or pinched around your bladder. But if you have a long history with other issues, yeah it might be good to see the doctor to be sure. I was just providing a different perspective. Not necessary likely, but thought for food, huh? Food for thought =DIf that doesn't apply to you at all, though, or if it doesn't make sense, just keep searching for solutions.
